About our flock, eggs and practices
We collect eggs 2-3 times a day. The bloom is left on the eggs which is a coating that covers the eggs to seal out bacteria and keeps the egg healthy. Yes, it's true eggs with bloom can be left un-refrigerated for up to 2 weeks, however, we refrigerate all of our eggs for added protection. The bloom is also what give some eggs their funky, beautiful colors. Colors you can expect to find here are blue, green, pink, dark brown, light brown and speckled. Our flock is young, all pullets, no roosters and all hatched in February, March or April of 2025. As the girls mature more, the eggs will become even larger. Currently most eggs are medium-large to large. We clean and rinse our coop run every day and of course, they get treats every evening for gifting us every day with their beautiful rainbow colored eggs. We provide clean, fresh water every day, oyster shells for strong shells and quality feed. Their treats range from purchased meal worms, micro-greens we sprout and grow ourselves, table scraps and even an occasional jelly donut which they love! Our breeds are barred rock, cinnamon queen, Rhode Island Red, Blue, Black and Splash Ameraucana and Easter Eggers.
